Indian Cricket Team registered a resounding victory over New Zealand in the 2nd ODI, The hosts won the match by 8 wickets and chased down the target of 109 in 20.1 overs. Skipper Rohit Sharma struck a fine half-century as the batter scored 51 runs in 50 balls where he struck 7 fours & 2 sixes.
New Zealand would be in a state of shock as not many expected this type of performance after a close finish in the 1st ODI where they almost pulled off an improbable victory. It won’t be wrong to say that they are missing their skipper Kane Williamson (*rested) as he could have been instrumental in such conditions.

Mohammed Shami was the wrecker in chief where the right-arm speedster took 3 wickets in his 6-over spell and gave away 18 runs. Shami set the tone for the Men in Blue as in the first over itself he got rid of the dangerous Finn Allen and was bang on target with his line & length.
The management would be pumped up after seeing the performance of the bowling unit. It won’t be wrong to say that now the Men in Blue have got an attack for all conditions. It would be interesting to see whether Rohit Sharma makes any tactical changes going ahead into the 3rd ODI on Tuesday (24th January).

I Just Focus On Maintaining The Right Lines And Lengths- Mohammed Shami
During post match presentation, Shami was asked about his performance. “Whenever I start, I just focus on maintaining the right lines and lengths. But it does happen sometimes that you bowl well and yet don’t get wickets. On other days you may not be in rhythm, and will still get wickets. That happens. I feel that the more you work with the ball in practice, the more success will come.” said Mohammed Shami.
It’s important to assess the conditions- Mohammed Shami
“I never thought I’d get to have a proper seam position and it gives me joy to see the seam upright as it goes in the air. As a new-ball bowler, it’s important to assess the conditions and pass the message quickly to the other bowlers as well.” he added.
