Roy Keane has given Argentina’s players and coaching staff the green light to ‘dance all they want’ after winning the World Cup on Sunday, as viewers were reminded of his previous tirade against Brazil.

Keane is best known in the punditry world for being one of the biggest critics around, with the former Manchester United ‘hardman’ midfielder often calling players out.

His latest comments come with an edge after Keane previously blasted Brazil stars and then-manager Tite for dancing in celebration after scoring in their last-16 tie with South Korea.

However Keane seems to be cutting a more relaxed figure while covering the World Cup final for ITV as he joked that players can dance ‘for the next ten years’ after lifting the trophy, saying: ‘He’s on the sidelines, he’s kicking every ball with them, that emotion we talk about is vital for this group of players and it got them over the line the emotion.

‘Look what brilliant scenes, it is just brilliant, dance all you want.

‘They’ll be dancing at the hotel tonight, good luck to them, they’ll be dancing for the next 10 years. That’s when you dance, when you win it,’ he added.

Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni was shown dancing on the pitch with his sons at full-time as celebrations inside the Lusail stadium got underway.

While World Cup winning players continuosly jumped up and down with their arms in the air as Messi and Co let out relief at having won the tournament in extraordinary circumstances. 

Argentina lifted their first World Cup title since 1986 as superstar captain Lionel Messi finally lifted the golden trophy to end his career-long wait to become world champion with the South American nation.

Messi scored twice in open-play before bagging Argentina’s first penalty of the shootout against France as Kylian Mbappe’s stunning World Cup final hattrick threatened to derail their quest for glory.

The 35-year-old national team hero was visibly emotional after the match, sinking to his knees in tears before being surrounded by his teammate’s and former Manchester City striker and good friend Sergio Aguero.

Keane however wasn’t involved in celebrations but did momentarily catch the limelight as viewers commented on his impressive moustache that he had grown for the final.
